Our Five Top Picks From Clerkenwell Design Week 2022
We attended Clerkenwell Design Week 2022 and were so inspired by the line-up of brands, whether you were looking for flooring, lighting, glazing, furniture or even Japanese toilets, there was something for everyone.
Here are the top five brands that caught our eye:
We have never seen lighting like this before. Unlike traditional lighting brands, their unique lighting designs aren’t linear. Instead, it bends and twists. Made with highly flexible, food grade silicone, their unique JANE design can be made into any shape, they call it the ‘jungle experience’.
Masters of maximalism, The Monkey Puzzle Tree provides a mixture of fabrics and wall coverings of all styles, colours, and patterns that act as functional art pieces. Not only that, but their ethos is a wholesome one. Charlotte Raffo, founder of the brand, makes sure to support local design and manufacturing in Yorkshire, and also provides her artists with a 20% royalty.
On a mission to bring the natural world into the built one, Cindy Lilen Studio’s uses natural fibres to create their intricate decorative lighting pieces. Using creation, femininity, nature, and Mapuche tales (to name a few) as their design inspo, the brand is far from running out of beautiful designs to produce for the world to see. We cannot wait to see what they’ve got coming out next.
Mixing traditional techniques with modern influences and contemporary motifs, Amber Rankin, artist and founder of Rankin Rugs, creates distinctive, one-of-a-kind rugs. Through her creations, she combines luxury with storytelling, all while preserving ancient, traditional craftsmanship.
