Reflecting on 2024 and the Spaces That Inspired Us

Winter Garden

As we kick off 2025, we’re taking a moment to reflect on the incredible achievements of the past year. 2024 was a year of creative problem-solving, bold designs, and teamwork! From reimagined coworking hubs to high-tech fitness spaces, our work has continued to evolve with the needs of modern workplaces. Here are five standout projects that defined 2024 for us.

Waverly House Work.Life Colourful Meeting Room

Work.Life – Soho, Waverly House

Work.Life Waverly House became a thrilling challenge of adaptability and creativity due to a last-minute change, which called for a complete redesign of the entire fifth floor just a week before we were due to start on site. This project embodies the energy of its central Soho location with adaptable layouts and bold interiors designed for modern professionals. Communal areas encourage collaboration, while private workstations provide focus, a space built to suit every working style. This dynamic design reflects Work.Life’s mission of creating community-centric workspaces.

Joseph Joseph's reception

Joseph Joseph

Globally renowned kitchenware brand Joseph Joseph teamed up with our sister company Modus to give their workspace a new lease of life. Our team were brought on post design stage to deliver the exciting refresh project. As an in-situ refurbishment project we were challenged to design a programme that would ensure the design was perfectly executed whilst causing minimal disruption to the existing workforce. The design is clean, functional, and refined, echoing the aesthetic of their iconic products. Beyond aesthetics, the space encourages creativity and collaboration, providing the perfect environment for their team to thrive and innovate.

Teapoint at Typewriter with letters hanging above the central island, bespoke lighting and colourful furnishings

Work.Life – The Typewriter Building

We were so excited when Work.Life approached us to transform The Typewriter building at 140 Borough High Street into a collaborative and vibrant coworking space. Our task was to breathe new life into the seven-storey, 22,000 sq ft building, creating a dynamic workspace for members to enjoy. Built in 1956 for a typewriter company, we faced the dual challenge of preserving the building’s heritage while infusing it with a fresh, contemporary vibe. This space balances collaborative areas with private zones, catering to the diverse needs of modern professionals. The adaptable layouts and curated interiors make it a standout example of community-focused workspace design.

Multi-coloured LED Lighted room with spin bikes and a large space

ReFit Gym

ReFit Gym at 100 Wood Street marked the start of an exciting partnership. Tasked with transforming the lower levels of the building into a fully automated gym, we integrated advanced technology to manage every aspect of the fitness experience. Key innovations included tailored acoustic solutions, dynamic lighting, and immersive LED screens. Expanding into the adjacent car park, we introduced spacious changing rooms and bike storage while maintaining the building’s structural integrity.

Asset Management Firm open workspace with orange chairs, modern aesthetics and natural light

Asset Management Firm

We teamed up with a leading Asset Management Firm to transform the first floor of 1 Old Queen Street into a Tenant-Ready™ workspace. Located in the heart of Westminster, just moments from Westminster Abbey, the 3,200 sq ft space was designed to complement its historic surroundings while meeting the demands of the future. With warm wooden accents, splashes of vibrant orange, and herringbone vinyl flooring inspired by traditional luxury, the workspace is both elegant and sophisticated.

As we look forward to 2025, we’re energised by the successes of 2024 and the new challenges waiting on the horizon. With each project, we continue to refine what’s possible in workplace design, embracing creativity, adaptability, and the power of great ideas. Here’s to another year of shaping spaces where people and businesses thrive.
