Choosing the right design and build partner for your next project involves balancing priorities, experience, budget, and timeline, which all play a role. But as businesses become more accountable for their impact, there’s another crucial factor to consider: whether your chosen company is a Certified B Corporation™.

Certified B Corporations, also known as B Corps, meet the highest social and environmental performance standards, transparency, and accountability, as verified by the non-profit B Lab. Unlike conventional firms that focus solely on profits, B Corps use business as a force for good, balancing people and the planet just as much as creating functional, high-quality spaces to drive positive change.

A Design and Build Partner Committed to Sustainability

Certified B Corps embed environmental responsibility in every stage of their projects. From sourcing sustainable materials to reducing construction waste and prioritising energy-efficient solutions, B Corps integrate greener alternatives without compromising quality or functionality. Their long-term approach means they consider the entire lifecycle of a space, helping clients create work environments that are not just fit for today but resilient for the future.

B Corps goes beyond environmental impact. They put people first, whether that’s employees, clients, or the wider community. Fair wages, ethical supply chains, and diversity and inclusion are built into the DNA of a Certified B Corporation. This means your design and build partner actively promotes positive workplace culture, engages with local communities, and ensures ethical working conditions across the supply chain.

This people-first approach extends to clients as well. With a strong emphasis on transparency and accountability, B Corps provide open communication and measurable commitments, ensuring you can trust them to deliver on their promises.

How We Build for People and the Planet

Sustainability in workplace design isn’t about ticking boxes, it’s about making smart, lasting choices. The best spaces don’t just look good, they work harder, last longer, and have a lighter impact on the environment. As a B Corp-certified design and build company, we focus on reducing waste, reusing materials, and creating offices that evolve with the businesses they’re built for.

Joseph Joseph: A Smarter Approach to Sustainability

When Joseph Joseph needed to refresh their London workspace, they could have relocated. Instead, they refurbished, reducing environmental impact while upgrading their office to better support their team.

A big part of this project was about making the most of what was already there. Existing furniture was reimagined rather than replaced, from restoring workstations to modifying barstools, giving them backs to improve comfort. Wooden walls weren’t just an aesthetic choice, they were sustainably sourced and help improve air quality. Energy-efficient lighting, better space planning, and facilities for cyclists reinforced a commitment to lower-carbon ways of working.

The Typewriter Building: Retrofitting for a Greener Future

Sustainability isn’t just about what you add, it’s also about what you keep. At The Typewriter Building, we worked within the fabric of an existing space, upgrading it to be more energy-efficient, flexible, and future-proof.

By adapting rather than replacing, we reduced the project’s embodied carbon while still delivering a workspace that meets modern needs. Smarter insulation, sustainable materials, and flexible layouts extended the building’s lifespan and functionality without unnecessary waste.

Transitions: A Workspace Built on Circular Economy Principles

For Transitions, the focus was clear: low environmental impact, high design value. Reclaimed and recycled materials were used throughout, from workstations to soft seating, proving that sustainable choices don’t have to compromise on quality or comfort.

A commitment to energy efficiency, natural light, and responsible sourcing meant that this wasn’t just another office fit out, it was a blueprint for how workplaces can reduce waste while still feeling fresh, functional, and inspiring.
