Growing professional services company Gemserv set us the challenge of transforming 77 Gracechurch Street, previously a Tenant-Ready™workspace, into an on-brand workspace fit for future growth. Gemserv’s priorities included an increased amount of formal meeting spaces as well as an ability to alter the space to cater for their evolving brand image. The pre-existing Tenant- Ready™ fit-out set a design standard we needed to integrate thoughtfully. It was crucial that our modifications not only enhanced functionality but also harmoniously blended with the existing elements, ensuring a cohesive look that felt intentionally designed rather than appearing as a displaced mix of old and new.
The Solution
To meet the need for more formal meeting spaces our design team chose to retain the existing front-of-house meeting rooms, whilst adding three more to the front of house and 2 to the back of house. These additional rooms have given Gemserv’s employees increased flexibility when it comes to collaborative work, allowing for more spontaneous gatherings. The teapoint was redesigned with full-height glazing onto the nearby workstations and timber slats to blend openness and privacy. Additional seating, including booths and banquettes, helped to create a larger social space as well as increase the choice of workstations. The adaptable boardroom was a standout feature, designed with a folding wall to transition easily between a formal meeting room and an event area.
