When CMC Markets asked us to transform their 35,000 sq ft Whitechapel workplace, we knew we were embarking on a thrilling challenge. Their workspace needed a major refresh to attract employees back post-COVID and reflect their updated brand. Initially planned for a three-phase in-situ refurbishment, our team showed agility when CMC Markets requested extra work just three days before completion. We quickly adjusted our plans to extend the project to a six-phase, requiring careful coordination, as we needed to demolish, rebuild, and complete each phase before moving on.
The Solution
The project was completed in phases to minimise disruption for employees. Noisy activities were scheduled for weekends and nights to ensure the project was on track for the 22-week schedule. Plastic sheeting was used to seal off areas of the live site, this reduced noise disruption and prevented dust from travelling to the working floors. The workspace was transformed into an inviting environment by the deep blue of CMC Markets’ new brand colour, woven throughout the space, guiding you through the workspace and creating a cohesive visual experience. High-spec finishes were used throughout the space, including pendant lighting, LED strips integrated into acoustic wall panels in the phone booths, and vinyl wood flooring, creating a sophisticated and modern environment. The result is a contemporary, efficient workspace that reflects CMC Markets’ refreshed brand and welcomes employees back in style, showcasing our ability to handle complex projects efficiently and with flair.
