The Challenge
Our latest coworking project with Work.Life at Waverly House in Soho became a thrilling challenge of adaptability and creativity due to a last-minute shift from our client, which called for a complete redesign of the entire fifth floor just a week before we were due to start. This overhaul wasn’t just a minor tweak, it involved a significant reimagining of the space to work with pre-installed MEPs— a challenge given the tight timeline and specific requirements to create a Work.Life space. Adding to the excitement was ensuring that the design flowed seamlessly from the bustling ground floor to the newly envisioned spaces upstairs, taking the design to the next level.
The Solution
We quickly reshaped our plans to align with their new vision, creating a vibrant hub for new and old members. The ground floor meeting rooms were designed to emulate the iconic surrounding area of Soho. From ‘PRIDE’, bursting with bold colours, to ‘Pages’, a nod to the local bookstore with its tranquil charm, and ‘Soho Square’, which brings the outdoors in with lush greenery, each room is a gateway to creativity. Materials and finishes from the ground floor weave through to the newly refurbished fifth floor, maintaining continuity. Consistent design elements such as the black timber flooring and bold copper island unit create a seamless flow and visual coherence throughout the floors. A neon sign quote on top of the circular motif in the teapoint adds an extra flair, making the space distinctively Soho.
This project wasn’t just about building spaces but crafting environments where creativity meets sustainability. By using eco-friendly materials like Dulux’s sustainable paints and Autex’s carbon-neutral panels, we ensured that the workplace was efficient, engaging, and environmentally conscious. We turned a challenge into an opportunity to showcase our adaptability and commitment to excellence.
