Tasked with creating a workspace for the Port of London Authority (PLA), the organisation that safeguards the tidal Thames, we set out to design a headquarters that reflects their unique brand identity while ensuring the space met their meeting-heavy working style.
Anchoring First Impressions
The welcome experience was crafted to emulate PLA’s brand, from the blue-painted exposed ceiling to the LED lights on the raft-life structure, the reception creates a memorable first impression. Five river-themed meeting rooms echo PLA’s brand identity and are equipped with smart glass for on-demand privacy. Inspired by PLA’s work with rivers, the design centres on their brand colours, deep blues and energising yellows sweep through the space, from the carpet runners that segment the workspace zones to the acoustic panels that offer a visual and auditory buffer.
Built to Withstand the Currents
Delivered in just five weeks, this headquarters is more than a workspace, it’s a celebration of PLA’s maritime legacy. With bespoke features woven throughout, the design reflects their identity while providing an inspiring environment where their team can thrive and grow.
