Can you turn an old workshop into a vibrant coworking hub that promotes productivity and creativity? This was the task on hand for our latest project with camera rental company FOMO Rentals. Having outgrown their current coworking space, it was time to find a workspace that FOMO Rentals could call home. Being a budding entrepreneur, FOMO Rentals founder, Jamie, was keen to make the most out of his new space, turning it into a coworking facility as well as being FOMO Rentals London HQ. With big aspirations but a tight budget, our team was put to the test to turn this vision into reality.
The solution
Working with the architect brought in by FOMO Rentals, our team designed and delivered an open, collaborative, and agile workspace. Leaning into the existing features of the building, such as the greenhouse-style roof, the design naturally took a biophilic route. The OSB flooring, made up of reconstituted chipboard, further accentuated the biophilic nature of the design and made a subtle comment to the building’s industrial past as a workshop. To tackle a tight budget, our team repurposed old workbenches, left behind by the previous tenant, into hotdesking units, perfect for the hybrid workforce. Furniture was sourced through second-hand sellers as a part of the sustainability efforts of the project, not only did this add to the unique and industrial feel of the space, but also had huge cost benefits. Overall, we are thrilled with this space and are so proud to have been a part of FOMO Rentals’ growth journey, and we look forward to seeing what their future holds!
